A Way to Use Traditions of St. Nick DSP

Do you ever buy something because you like one part of it? When I saw the Traditions of St. Nick online, I told myself that it wasn't really for me. But any way, I bought a package. It was a challenge for me to use the paper. There isn't a coordinating stamp set so I was free to use the paper however I wanted. Here is one of my two cards using this Designer Series Paper.

This is a fun fold card so you can use a lot of paper! Here is the inside of this card:

This card can be a gift card holder, too. Those little Classic Gift Card Envelopes are set to retire. I mentioned in my video that they would carry forward but that was incorrect. So if you want them, don't wait too long.

Cutting Instructions for this Card:
Cherry Cobbler card base: cut 4 1/4" x 11". Score at 2 3/4" and 5 1/2" and fold to create Z-fold
DSP for front and first fold: 2 1/2" x 4", cut 2
DSP for inside:5 1/4" x 4"

Here is the card opened all the way:
Notice the flap of the Gift Card Envelope is covered with coordinating paper for an added detail.

Stars at Night Cards using O Holy Night Suite Collection

Gold and silver are traditional Christmas colors to me. These two cards feature products from the O Holy Night suite collection and are absolutely beautiful in person. If you are looking for inspiration how to use the beautiful O Holy Night Designer Series Paper and Shining Brightly Specialty DSP, here are a couple of options. I'm calling these cards Stars at Night.

"The stars are brightly shining" is in the Night Divine stamp set. These words are in the song "O Holy Night" which is one of my favorite songs, not just Christmas, but overall. This stamp set is scheduled for retirement but it will stay in my collection for future use. I love this card because it is a center fold card.

The sentiment on the gold card is in the Stars at Night stamp set. It is a linear stamp and can be challenging to line up straight. The secret to photopolymer stamps is to take them out of the packaging and place smooth side up and let it rest on the table. That lets the stamp return to original shape before you place it on your stamping block.

Cutting Instructions for Stars are Brightly Shining Card:
Card Base: cut 5 1/2 x 8 1/2. Score each side of the front at 2 1/8", this has to be accurate so your card will fold properly. Burnish folds with bone folder
Silver Foil: 5 1/4 x 1 7/8, cut 2
DSP: 5 1/8 x 1 3/4, cut 2

Cutting Instructions for Gold Star Card:
Card Base: 5 1/2 x 8 1/2, score at 4 1/4
Distressed Gold: 4 x 5 1/4
DSP: 3 3/4 x 5
Sentiment Strip: 1/2 x 4 1/4

Pick of the Patch Fall Card & Merry and Bright Christmas Card

Today's cards are a mix of fall cards and Christmas cards. Why not? The stores have both seasons out so I can make cards for each season.

The fall card uses Pick of the Patch bundle on page 51 of the mini catalog. It's a bundle with a punch.

I used fall colors, of course. Crumb cake card base and Inked Botanicals Designer Series paper for the color. Cajun craze pumpkins and Pumpkin Pie pumpkin with that cute Very Vanilla and Black Large Checked ribbon adds just the right amount of that fall feel. The pumpkin is popped up on dimensionals. The inside is blank for your message. The supply list is at the bottom of this post.

Cutting Instructions:
  • Card Base: 5 1/2 x 8 1/2, scored at 4 1/4. This is a landscape card
  • Designer Series Paper: 3 x 4
  • Cajun Craze: 4 1/4 x 3 1/2
  • Very Vanilla: 4 x 3
  • Scrap to stamp and punch pumpkin

My second card today uses some of the Joy of Christmas Designer Series Paper and that pretty Red & Gold Dotted Ribbon. It is an online exclusive and isn't in either catalog. The supply list for this card is at the bottom of this post.

This card is very easy but packs a punch. The center panel is adhered with Stampin' Dimensionals to give it some attention. The Red & Gold Dotted Ribbon is wrapped around the panel for about an inch on each side and stuck down. I love the little bit of gold it adds. The circle is die cut with a Stitched Shapes die.

The inside sentiment is done a little differently for this card. I layered two sizes of the Stitched Shapes square dies to bring attention to the sentiment but still leave plenty of room to write a message.

Cutting Instructions:
  • Real Red Cardstock: 3 1/2 x 4 1/2
  • Designer Series Paper: 3 1/4 x 4 1/4
  • Scraps of Basic White and Real Red to die cut shapes
Thanks for stopping by!
