Everyday Details with Poetic Expressions Designer Series Paper

Today's card can be used for any occasion because it doesn't have a sentiment on the outside. My card is a sympathy card. My inspiration for this card started with the pretty paper. Poetic Expressions DSP is retiring and I haven't used it yet. I only used one small piece on the front. The second thing I wanted to feature was that bird nest. We have blue birds in one our nesting boxes this year and that makes me so happy. We have a mockingbird nest in the arbor. I saw a hummingbird at the feeder. Spring is in full swing around here. Wait, back to the card.

Don't you just love those little bird eggs? And the detail around that circle is perfect for this card. The ribbon has some gold in it but this picture doesn't do it justice. Trust me, it adds subtle sparkle. The birds definitely add gold sparkle.

A Pretty Translucent Florals Birthday Card

Just when I thought I'd use one of the Online Exclusives, the pretty paper sells out. Oh, well. Maybe you managed to purchase some and are looking for inspiration. I've got you covered.

I used the Translucent Florals stamps and dies. They are currently low inventory. so if you want to add these to your craft room, don't wait! Click here is you'd like to order.

This pretty card uses vellum. You are going to stamp on it, dry the ink, die cut using the Translucent Floral Dies and layer on the card. It adds a pretty detail to your card. Stamp the flowers in Berry Burst and Flirty Flamingo first and set aside to dry. If there is still wet ink, use your heat tool to finish drying the ink. I like to blot the image on a piece of paper to make sure all the wet places are dry before die cutting.

The card base is Berry Burst and is such a rick color. A piece of the Delightful Floral Designer Series Paper is die cut using Perennial Postage die and layered on a piece of Pretty Peacock DSP. The combination of those colors really brings out the flowers on the DSP! The Basic White cardstock layer is die cut using Deckled Rectangle Dies. The flowers are stamped in Berry Burst and Flirty Flamingo. The leaves and flower stems are stamped in Garden Green.

The sentiment comes from the Garden Meadow stamp set. It needed to be horizontal. You can angle the ends of the label for a bit of added detail.

Want to know more about how to make this card? Here is the Video I did showing how to make this card.

Cutting Instructions:

Card Base: 5 1/2" x 8 1/2", scored and folded at 4 1/4"

Pretty Peacock Layer: 4" x 5 1/4"

DSP Die cut to fit

Basic White cardstock: Die cut desired size, label is 1/2" x 3"

The last detail to add is the embellishment. Those Pastel Adhesive-backed sequins add just the right amount of color and sparkle.

Thanks for stopping by.

Happy stampin'!

Perennial Lavender Happy Birthday Fun Fold Card

Today's card is so pretty in person. It is not a traditional fold on the left card. The center panel opens to the right! The paper is from the Perennial Lavender Designer Series Paper. Depending on how you cut the paper you can just a few flowers or a whole panel of flowers. For this card, I chose just a few flowers.

I love purple and this card delivers on that. Two shades of Stampin' Up! purples: Gorgeous Grape and Fresh Freesia. Plus those pretty sparkling gems add more shades. They are our Purple Fine Shimmer Gems. The Happy Birthday is stamped in Gorgeous Grape. The Double Oval punch is retiring but it was perfect for this card.

This is what the card looks like opened up.

My Tip: Be sure and adhere the 1" strip under the white card liner before adhering the liner to the inside of the card! Ask me how I figured that out? And: do not put your adhesive all the way around the Fresh Freesia layer or you will stick your card together and it won't open!

Here's the video on my You Tube channel so you can see how to assemble the card.

Cutting instructions:

Card Base (Gorgeous Grape): 5 1/2" x 7 1/2', score and fold at 4 1/4"

Score the 1" strip at 3", the short side goes under the inside liner

Liner (Basic White): 5 1/4" x 4"

Basic White panel for left front of card: 5 1/4" x 3", embossed

Center Panel (Fresh Freesia): 3 1/4" x 3 1/4"

DSP: 3" x 3"

Gorgeous Grape and Basic White for punching

Thanks for stopping by! Let me know if you make this card. There are many possibilities using different papers and color combos.

Happy stamping,

Detailed Dogwood Card

Hello. Happy March!!

Today's card is made with one of the free rewards you could have earned during Sale-a-bration. The stamp set is called Detailed Dogwood. If you earned one or are looking for ideas for cards, here's my card to consider.

My card is a sympathy card and uses a scripture stamp out of the Quiet Reflection stamp set. This set is an Online Exclusive, did you see it? It is so pretty and has sentiments appropriate for the loss of a pet! We don't have many sets for that. The die cut that the dogwood is stamped on is also an Online Exclusive called Garden Meadow dies

Did you manage to earn another one of the SAB rewards called Flight & Airy? It's the one with the pretty bluebirds. I used the B side of one of the sheets to layer on the card front. You can substitute any paper you have for that. Be creative!

Here is the video I did demonstrating how I made the card.

Cutting Instructions:
Card Base 5 1/2" x 8 1/2", scored and fold at 4 1/4"
DSP: 5 1/4" x 4"
Piece of Basic White for die cutting, inside layer and the dragonfly
Sentiment strip: 1/2" x 4, cut slant on each end
