I have one more Sophisticated Sled card: a gate fold card. I forgot to take a picture of the card with it open but you can see where the cardstock meets in the middle and opens to either side. This card uses a more traditional color scheme: red and green. Don't you love that plaid paper for the background?
The card base is one of the newest Neutral colors called Basic Beige. It's not a cream color or a brown color, maybe it leans towards a gray? Did you see the embossing on the center panel? The Basic Beige was embossed with the Timber Embossing folder for a woodgrain-look. I can imagine 'messing' it up some with ink but for this card, I kept it clean. My favorite detail is the red bird!
Cutting Instructions:
Card Base is cut 5 1/2 x 8 1/2. It is scored at 2 1/8" on each side on the 8 1/2" side. Be very precise so when you fold them to the front, they meet right in the middle for a gate fold card.
Plaid Iconic Celebrations DSP: 1 7/8" x 5 1/4"
Center Panel: Mossy Meadow cut 2 3/4" X 4 3/4"; Basic Beige cut 2 1/2" x 4 1/2"
Pecan Pie piece to stamp and die cut the sleigh
Mossy Meadow piece to die cut wreath
Old Olive piece to die cut the leaves for the wreath
Basic White to die cut for sentiment label using a die from Something Fancy dies or just hand cut
Cherry Cobbler scrap for red bird
***A Big Hint when you assemble your card: DO NOT apply adhesive to the entire back of that center panel!!! It only needs to be applied on the left side so your card will open. At every card class, one of my ladies glues the card shut because she applied adhesive all the way around on the back. Don't do that!
This will be one of my personal Christmas cards for sure. I love everything about it, don't you?
Here is the video showing how to make the card: Check it Out.
Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!
