Florals in Bloom Birthday Card

Hello! I made it back from OnStage! What an amazing event. It is sensory overload sometimes but I love it. I met so many ladies who love to make cards, scrapbooks, or a host of other paper crafts. We get to see new stamps, dies, and all the pretty stuff and see demonstrations of how to use the products. It is just the best time!!!

I had time in my craft room yesterday to decompress and try and clean up. There are card kits left over from my February class that need to be made so I took the opportunity to make a video. This pretty card looks like spring, doesn't it? Shy Shamrock is the card base color and today is St. Patrick's day, how appropriate is that?

As usual the Designer Series Paper is the star of this card and was my inspiration for the card. It's called Florals in Bloom. Most of the sheets are full of flowers which can be a bit busy. This card features smaller pieces and is a 'calmer' look. I combined the DSP with Impressions Abloom bundle which is already retired. The two step stamping for the flowers allows many options for the colors. We used Berry Burst and Pretty in Pink. Heat Embossing the sentiment on the label adds detail and is fun to do. It is like magic when you heat up that dull powder and it starts melting and become shiny.

This is a really easy card to make. Here is the video Link to see how the card is made.

Thanks for stopping by.

Until next time, take care.

Gallery Blooms Thank You Card

 Hello!

Hope you are enjoying the spring weather. My daffodils have been going crazy this year. Little spots of sunshine in unexpected places. I enjoy flowers of all kinds so no surprise I make cards with flowers!

Today's card is one my ladies made in class. I wanted to introduce them to the Greetings for All Mix & Match Ephemera Pack. This pack offers sentiments for every occasion, no stamping required! Do you need a birthday card? No problem there is a label for that. We made our card a Thank You card.

Gallery Blooms bundle is part of the Beautiful Gallery Suite Collection but I paired it with Floral Charm DSP. The frame is die cut with one of the frames in the die set! You get two frames with a rectangle piece out of the center. We used the smaller frame and brushed Fresh Freesia on Basic White. This added a little color so the frame wasn't so white. A technique that can be used to distress your card or add color.

The flower stem was stamped in Memento Black and colored with Stampin' Blends. Isn't it pretty? Did you notice the vellum? It softens the paper so the flowers and sentiment become the center of attention. I layered two pieces of the pretty Designer Series Paper to the card, did you see the dark green mat? It's the back side of one of the pieces!

For the liner on the inside, I die cut a piece of Basic White using Branching Out Dies. It adds a little bit of detail and isn't just a rectangle. Since this was a thank you card, there is no sentiment stamped

How can it be March already?

Did your March come in like a lion or a lamb? I know it sure came in quickly. It's like I blinked and missed February. I just realized that it has been a month since my last blog post! Yikes, didn't mean to do that. So let's set a goal: a minimum of once a week I'll check in with you. Let's go!

News in the Stampin' Up!® world includes brand new kits and Online Exclusives! Have you seen them yet? The new kits are a bit different this time-one is a set of standing clipboards! What? Have you ever made a card and wished you could display it for a while? Well, now you can. Three sizes are included.

Here's one with a project displayed on it. I can't wait to see that moth in person, it has gold highlights! That kit is called Radiant Reminders. It makes three items that can be displayed on the three clipboards.

Want to see the new Online Exclusives? CLICK HERE. The first one I had to have was the Match Day bundle! Did you see the Service Essentials bundle?
