Bright Star Stampers : Happy Spring Card Using Easter Basket Bundle

Hello! Spring is definitely in full bloom here, what about where you live? Back with a video and card this week. My card today uses the Easter Basket bundle but I wanted to just say Hello to someone. "Happy Spring" is in the stamp set so that was perfect!

The card base starts the party on this card. It's Peach Pie and coordinates with Easter Joy Specialty DSP. That paper is glossy and shiny! It is also thicker than our usual Designer Series Paper. I chose the piece with flowers! The Easter basket is die cut along with the scalloped border and positioned on the circle that was die cut from the Stylish Shapes Dies. When you have a busy background using a solid image grounds your embellishments so they can become the center of attention.

I laid the die cut basket on the circle just to mark where I wanted to stamp the items that were going in the basket. They needed to go just below the edge so they looked right. So did you notice those eggs?

I used some Masking Paper to stamp them to get that look. First I stamped the center egg on the circle, then I stamped on on the Masking Paper and cut it out with scissors very close to the black edge. I took the release paper off the back so it would be sticky and layered it on top of the egg on the circle. Then I could stamp two more eggs at angles, when I removed the Masking paper with my Pick Tool pokey end, I had three eggs!!! I should have done that with those carrots but I took the lazy way and just stamped twice. You can definitely see how much better it looks to take the time to mask!

The rest is coloring and getting it all adhered on the circle. The bunny is layered on dimensionals but the circle and basket are flat on the card.

On the inside, I die cut a piece of Basic White with Branching Out Dies and borrowed a sentiment from another stamp set that said "Sending a Happy Hello." There is plenty of room to write your own message.

Cutting Instructions:

Card Base: cut 5 1.2" x 8 1/2", scored and folded at 4 1/4"

DSP Layer: 4" x 5 1/4"

You will need scraps big enough to die cut the basket, bunny, circle and bow. A scrap of Basic White to stamp the sentiment out, hand cut it out with some wavy edges
